Beyond the Noise

Beyond the Noise is a homage to the people and stories often overlooked. The series explores themes of identity, culture, and belonging across a three-part documentary series, set in Cambodia.

We lived alongside the people we filmed, sharing meals and listening to their stories. What emerges is our recollection of the feelings we felt and the things we learned along the way. Portraits of resilience, creativity, and the quiet determination it takes to protect something when the world tells you it's not worth saving.

06 / The Premiere

We launched a campaign for Beyond the Noise months before its release, and it began to find an audience, reaching over 800,000 views online. News outlets across Cambodia started covering the series. On June 19, 2026, we premiered the films to a sold-out room at the Institut français du Cambodge in Phnom Penh, followed by smaller private and community screenings around the country.

Pre-production felt like one big experiment. Neither of us had done anything like this before, but with filmmaking on one side and tech and impact on the other, our roles found each other naturally.

We filmed for about a month, 8 to 10 hours most days, often living with the people we were documenting. There were moments when we felt genuinely conflicted about whether we should be filming at all.

We took a leap to keep this going. Keoni left his job, and right after we got back from Cambodia, the film company became Paradyms. The best things don’t come without a cost.
